Irish guy, originally from Dublin, with a passion and curiosity to seek out the hidden gems of the world. I began my travels with a college trip to Belgium at 19 and quite quickly the ‘itchy feet’ syndrome took over! The real adventure commenced in 2013 with a job offer from a school in Chengdu, China. Studying to be a teacher really paid off and I left Ireland for 5.5 years.

My thirst for adventure and exploring brought me to various parts of China, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and all the way down to New Zealand and Australia. With each new destination I set foot in, my wish is to fully experience the culture, meet the local people and be humbled by the natural wonders of mother nature came true.

In 2018 I met Jose who shares a similar crazy passion for adventure and traveling. He is from Venezuela. Before the pandemic arrived, we set out to find off-the-beaten-track locations and immerse ourselves in small and large cities. We gained a number of unique and memorable encounters while backpacking in Costa Rica, mesmerized by the stunning mountains of Switzerland and tasting the flavors of Munich.

Here’s to the next chapter of stimulating encounters…

Venezuelan guy, living in Dublin for 8 years. Due to the economic situation in my country, I was forced to say my goodbyes and start a new life abroad. I had very little travel experience at that point and my English skills were fairly poor. Life in Ireland has opened my eyes to new friendly people and a diverse, welcoming culture. I took the opportunity to visit many stunning places in Ireland, including The Ring of Kerry, Dingle, Donegal and and the quaint city of Galway.

My desire to travel increased and so did my confidence in speaking English, so I flew to the canals of Amsterdam, enjoyed the history of Berlin, the stunning architecture of Munich and the vibrant city of Madrid. After meeting Joey, my senses were challenged to the max with an incredible trip to China where modern skyscrapers and a world class metro system sits side by side ancient temples and family run (often spicy) restaurants.

I have been mesmerized and humbled by the challenges local people face both socially and politically everywhere I go. Almost everyone has been ready to help, offer advice and include us in understanding their daily lives. They ask questions with curiosity about life in Ireland and wonder how it compares to Venezuela.
